Dear AISC friends and colleagues,

Chokma! Welcome back! We have an exciting year ahead at the AISC, with a new faculty search, two student-led research projects, and lots of terrific programming. Don’t miss our welcome event October 3rd (see below for details)! We hope to see you all there.

Please join me and the AISC staff in welcoming Dr. David Yoo to his new position as Vice Provost of the Institute of American Cultures. We are very fortunate to have David and at the helm and are looking forward to working with him. We also express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Belinda Tucker, who served in this role for many years and was a steadfast supporter and advocate for the AISC. We will miss you, Belinda!

We also want to welcome Dr. Ben Madley to his new position as Interim Chair of the AIS IDP, and thank Dr. Paul Kroskrity for his many years of service to the program as its chair. Paul will remain actively involved, serving as chair of the Faculty Advisory Committee of the IDP.

I would also like to take a moment to recognize the AISC faculty who have agreed to search on the Center’s Faculty Advisory Committee and give their time and energy to helping the AISC grow and thrive: Randy Akee, Keith Camacho, Jessica Cattelino, Erin Debenport, Paul Kroskrity, Benjamin Madley, Teresa McCarty, Ananda Marin, Angela Riley, and very special thanks to Mishuana Goeman, who will chair the committee. We appreciate you all very much!
