Dear Bruin Family and Community Members,

As many of you are aware, I have completed my five year term as Director of the American Indian Studies Center, and I will step down on June 30th, 2015.  It has been my sincere pleasure to serve as Director of one of the flagship American Indian Studies research centers in the nation and to work with some of the absolute best faculty and students in the field today.  This remarkable experience would not have been possible without you – faculty, students, staff, local tribes, and community members – and I thank you all.

After being away in fall 2015 for a visiting professorship, I will continue on at UCLA as Professor at the School of Law.  I do hope our paths cross again soon.
