Mashantucket Pequot Thesaurus Project
Cheryl Metoyer acted as principal investigator with help from research assistants Michael McLaughlin and Bhagirathi Subrahmanyam on a project entitled “The Thesaurus of American Indian Terminology†for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The purpose of this project is to construct a user-centered thesaurus, designed to reflect the information-seeking behavior of scholars and researchers who study American Indian subjects. This thesaurus may enable libraries, archives, and museums to organize more effectively information related to American Indian subjects. It is anticipated that this thesaurus may be used in conjunction with the Library of Congress Subject Headings. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation agreed to provide $90,000 for FY 2000–2001, the fifth project year.
